Gravity-Charouz Racing followed successful weekend at Paul Ricard with another great performance at Spa-Francorchamps that hosted another round of the Blancpain Lamborghini Super Trofeo. The Czech team scored two wins and one second place which means that Gravity-Charouz Racing moved to the second place in the team classification.
The car #77 was again shared by proven Austrian-Slovakian duo Gerhard Tweraser and Filip Sládečka. Fresh from two wins in France they qualifying fifth for the first race. Both drivers of the Gravity-Charouz Racingu team put in a perfect performance and were rewarded with second place. Tweraser with Sládečka were fighting for the podium also in the second place but their effort was hampered by a puncture. The young drivers were unlucky also on Saturday when they were penalised for breaching the mandatory time for a pitstop. The penalisation pushed them from second to fourth place. "We did everything right in the first race and finished second, which was great. Unfortunately we were not that successful in following races, we had a puncture and did a mistake during pitstop in the last race,” said Filip Sládečka.
Petr Charouz and Jan Šťovíček were behind the wheel of the black #88. The Czech drivers started with 12th place in the free practice and qualified 9th. Petr Charouz was the only one who drove in the first race and after consistent performance finished 6th. The second raced mirrored the result of the first one but this time both Charouz and Šťovíček got behind the wheel. They signed off with eighth place in the last race. “I used Lamborghini races at Spa mainly as a preparation for the 24 hours where I was also racing. I am happy with results which we got with Petr. Especially petr drove very well,” said Jan Šťovíček after last race. “Spa-Francorchamps is the most difficult track I have ever raced and I am very happy that I hadanother opportunity to race there. I feel positive about the weekend, I was improving all the time and we got also solid points,” added Petr Charouz.
Erik Janiš with Jakub Knoll left Spa-Francorchamps with biggest joy as they won two races. The were outside podium in the first race as they suffered a puncture and finished eighth. The second race went much better and Erik Janiš did a sterling job moving from eighth to first before the pitstop. Jakub Knoll drove cleanly and took the flag. The script was pretty much same in the last race, Erik Janiš built a lead on a wet track and Jakub Knoll held it to the line. “My return to the Lamborghini ST was really successful. We were unlucky with a puncture in the first race but it was much better afterwards and we got two wins. I always tried to get the best possible position for my team-mate and I was able to do it. Jakub did very good job in the second and third race and kept the lead. I would like to say big thanks to the team as they prepared a great car and also to my brother Jarek who did a great job as a team manager,” said Erik Janiš. “We probably could not have wished better results. Erik played big part in it, he was simply fantastic. I would also like to thank Gravity-Charouz Racing for perfect car,” added Jakub Knoll.
